Gionee launches new variants of F103 smartphone

Chinese smartphone company Gionee has launched two new variants of its smartphone, the F103 which was launched earlier in September.
The new variants are announced to be priced at Rs 8,499 and Rs 10,999 while the earlier variant of the smartphone was launched at the price of Rs 9,999.

The two new variants of the F103 smartphone come with 1 GB RAM and 3 GB RAM while a few other features remain almost the same as the original variant.

To recall, the smartphone runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop while featuring a 5 inch HD IPS Display with Dragontrail glass protecting it from scratches.

The F103 smartphone comes powered by a 64 bit 1.3 GHz quad core MediaTek MT6735 processor which it comes in colors like Pearl White, Dawn White and Black.

Speaking on the camera section, the F103 comes with an 8 MP rear autofocus camera with LED flash and aperture f/2.2 and the front facing camera comes with a 5 MP sensor.

The smartphone comes with 16 GB internal storagw which can be expanded via microSD card.

Along with this, much like many other smartphones, the F103 comes with 4G compatibility and also supports WiFi, GPS, 3G, Bluetooth and MicroUSB connectivity.

Powering this device is a 2,400 mAh battery.

Having said this, it is also worth noting that the F103 smartphone by Gionee is the company’s first device to be manufactured in India along side the Make in India initiative.

The smartphone is being manufactured at the Foxconn plant in Andhra Pradesh.

Gionee S5.1 Pro With 5-Inch Display, 13-Megapixel Camera Launched

Addressing the increasingly competitive smartphone market, on Thursday, Chinese smartphone manufacturer Gionee announced the launch of the Gionee S5.1 Pro in its home country. Taking design cues from previous generation Gionee smartphones, the S5.1 Pro is impressively slim while also offering mid-range hardware specifications.
The S5.1 Pro has a waistline of 5.35mm, only slightly thicker than the original S5.1 which has 5.15mm thick body. But despite keeping the device's body thin, the S5.1 Pro doesn't disappoint with hardware specifications.
The S5.1 Pro sports a 5-inch 2.5D HD (720x1280) Amoled display with a pixel density of 237ppi. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass 4. Inside the device sits a 64-bit capable MediaTek MT6753 octa-core SoC clocked at 1.3GHz, which comes coupled with Mali T720 GPU. Other features include 2GB of RAM, 16GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card (up to 128GB).
The Gionee S5.1 Pro comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor. The phone comes with a non-removable 2400mAh Li-Ion battery. The dual-SIM capable smartphone supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB 2.0 port and other standard connectivity features. On the software side, the Gionee S5.1 Pro runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with the Amigo 3.0 user interface.
The Gionee S5.1 Pro has been unveiled in China, and was first reported by tech blog TechGadgetsZ. The company, however, hasn't announced the pricing details as of yet, but it is expected to cost around Rs. 20,000. Gionee has also not announced the global availability of the smartphone.
