Motorola Moto E (Gen 2) Price in India Slashed

Motorola Moto E (Gen 2)
The Moto E (Gen 2), the popular durable budget smartphone, has become even more affordable, with Motorola slashing its price by Rs. 1,000. The price cut revises the retail price of the 3G variant of the smartphone from Rs. 6,999 to Rs. 5,999, and the 4G variant from Rs. 7,999 to Rs. 6,999

Flipkart, the company's exclusive online retailer, is also holding an exchange offer on both the Moto E (Gen 2) variants that can get you up to Rs. 2,000 off with an eligible smartphone.

Launched earlier this year, the Moto E (Gen 2) 3G variant sports a 4.5-inch display of 540x960 pixels resolution. It is powered by Qualcomm's entry level Snapdragon 200 quad-core chipset clocked at 1.2GHz coupled with 1GB RAM. The 4G variant, which was launched a couple of months later, on the other hand sports a 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor. The handsets are otherwise identical in terms of specifications.

Other features of the handset include a 5-megapixel camera at the back, and a 0.3-megapixel camera placed upfront. The Moto E (Gen 2) comes with 8GB inbuilt storage which can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card should you need more storage.

The price cut comes as the company addresses the increasingly competitive smartphone market in India. The arrival of smartphones like Xiaomi's Mi 4i, and Lenovo's K3 Note have forced vendors to make their entry and mid-level smartphones cheaper.

Motorola's stark rival Xiaomi recently slashed the price of its mid-range handset the Redmi Note 4G by Rs. 2,000 to make the phone available at Rs. 7,999. The company also knocked Rs. 2,000 off the retail price of Redmi 2 to Rs. 5,999.

The Moto E (Gen 2) price cut could also mean the imminent arrival of new phones. Indeed, Motorola has a media event scheduled for July 28 where it is expected to launch the third generation Moto G, and the third generation Moto X. The company could also launch the second generation Moto 360 at the event.

Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) Leaked by Retailer Again, 2GB RAM Tipped

Motorola Moto G (Gen 3)
Soon after being listed by a Spanish e-commerce retailer, the yet-to-be-announced Moto G (Gen 3) has been listed again by a Swiss retailer, this time tipping the price, design, and specifications of the handset.
According to the Digitec listing (now pulled down), the third-generation Moto G will be priced at CHF 235 (approximately Rs. 15,500). The online retailer's listing (via Giga.de) claims that the Moto G (Gen 3) will feature a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display; 441ppi pixel density; 2GB of RAM; 1.7GHz quad-core processor; Android 5.0 Lollipop; 8GB of inbuilt storage; expandable storage support via microSD card (up to 128GB); Micro-SIM support; 2070mAh battery; measure 141.5x70.7x11mm, and weigh 149 grams. Unfortunately, there is no word on the camera details of the handset.
The retailer also listed Moto G (Gen 3) images that were in line with previous leaks. The front of the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) looks largely similar to the second-generation Moto G while major changes are apparent at the back panel. The LG-like vertical strip near the rear camera on the Moto G (Gen 3) can be seen housing the rear camera at one end and the Motorola logo at the other. A dual-LED flash is also seen placed on the strip.

While most of the innards tipped by the online retailer are in line with previous leaks, there are a few differences as well. The Moto G (Gen 3) was previously tipped to pack a 2470mAh battery alongside supporting 4G LTE connectivity. Earlier leaks have suggested a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera.
In-line with the current online retailer listing, a recent report claimed 2GB of RAM alongside IPX7 certification for the handset. An earlier report even suggested that the Moto G (Gen 3) would come in two variants: 8GB inbuilt storage with 1GB of RAM, and 16GB storage with 2GB of RAM.
Notably, the India invite said, "A good friend will offer you their umbrella when it rains. A best friend will forever be ready to dance in the rain with you," hinting that Moto G (Gen 3) would be waterproof. The IPX7 certification further cemented the speculations.
Motorola has already confirmed an event on July 28 where the company is expected to launch its new Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto X (Gen 3) smartphones.

Motorola Sends Invites for July 28 Event; New Moto X, Moto G Launches Expected

Motorola Sends Invites for July 28 Even

Motorola has sent out invites for an event on July 28, seemingly confirming recent reports that tipped the company would launch its new Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto X (Gen 3) smartphones on that date.

The Lenovo-owned company has sent out invites for an event in New Delhi (seen above), as well as events in London, New York, and San Francisco.

It appears as if the India event will be the first to be held on that day, with our invitation reading 3:30pm IST. The Sao Paulo and New York events are scheduled for 9am BRT (which is 5:30pm IST) and 9am ET (which is 6:30pm IST) respectively, while the London event is scheduled for 2pm BST (which is also 6:30pm IST).

Motorola has also launched a micro-site for the event, which features this text, "Yes. We're in a relationship with our phone... We feel lost without it. We trust them with our most personal questions, photos, stories and secrets. They never leave our side. But shouldn't all that care and devotion you show be returned? A better mobile relationship is on its way. Join us on 7.28.15 to find out how we are changing things for the better."

Invites shared for London, New York, and Sao Paulo events feature slightly different text, with the English versions reading, "Your relationship status is about to change. XGX, Moto."
The India invite continues along the same relationship vein, saying, "A good friend will offer you their umbrella when it rains. A best friend will forever be ready to dance in the rain with you."
Motorola Sends Invites for July 28 Even

Reading between the lines, it seems obvious that Motorola is about to launch new mobile products that will change the relationship users have with their phones. Just how these tie in with the rumoured specifications leaked thus far for the Moto X (2015) and Moto G (2015) remains to be seen, with nothing so far tipping relationship building feature.

Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) Tipped to Launch on July 28, Moto Maker in Tow

Motorola Moto G (Gen 3)
Motorola's latest Moto G smartphone is said to launch on July 28 at an event in Sao Paulo, Brazil. A report claims that the company should start the sale of the smartphone in Brazil on the same day alongside revealing the price. Additionally, popular tipster Evan Blass (of @evleaks fame) has shared a picture of the Motorola Moto G (Gen 3) hinting that the smartphone will come with Moto Maker customisation option.
Tecmundo reports that the Moto G (Gen 3) will be priced at BRL 899 (approximately Rs. 18,000). Some of the purported specifications tipped in the report include a 5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels); a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.4GHz; an Adreno 306; 8GB and 16GB storage options with microSD card support; a 2470mAh battery; a 13-megapixel rear camera; a 5-megapixel front camera, and IPX7 certification.
Considering that the first-generation Moto G was launched back in 2013 at Sao Paulo, Brazil, it is not unlikely Motorola will choose the venue again for the launch of the third generation.
In the meanwhile, a Reddit post claims that the Moto G (Gen 3) may come in two variants: 8GB inbuilt storage with 1GB of RAM, and 16GB storage with 2GB of RAM.
In other leak, Evan Blass has shared an image of the Moto G (Gen 3) with Moto Maker customisation. The tweet said, "moto-g-maker," clearly tipping that the smartphone might come with customisation support at launch. The shared image of the Moto G (Gen 3) goes in line with recent leaks with the rear of the handset featuring an LG-like strip near the rear camera. The vertical silver strip, as previously seen, houses the rear camera at one end and the Motorola logo at the other.
In a separate leak, rear panels of four Motorola handsets have been pictured by Hello Moto HK and claimed to be from the Motorola Droid Mini, Moto G (Gen 3), new Droid and Moto X (Gen 3). Both the Motorola Droid Mini and Droid smartphones feature dotted back panels. In the meanwhile, the Moto G (Gen 3) and Moto X (Gen 3) are seen sporting rear panels with LG-like strip near the rear camera. Both the handsets sport flash placed on the strip at one end and Moto logo at another.

Motorola’s Third-Generation Moto G Smartphone To Be Released This July?

Motorola’s Third-Generation Moto G Smartphone To Be Released This July
Motorola is yet to introduce the next-generation of the Moto G device however, speculations are rife that we would possibly be seeing the third-generation Moto G handsets as early as next month. Wondering how the rumor mills are hinting at a most likely July release date? Well, Day Herald, an online website, has used simple Maths and found that after releasing the 1st generation of the Moto G, Motorola took 10 months to come out with its 2nd generation of this handset, the Moto G2. This clearly suggests that rumors making rounds may turn to be a reality.

While Motorola is yet to reveal the third-generation Moto G; an Indian e-commerce website has already put up a page for the handset.
Flipkart, the exclusive online retail partner of Motorola handsets in India, has listed the Moto G (Gen 3). It appears to be an early, placeholder listing of the handset as it does not include any images and even misses out on nearly all specifications. The only detail that the listing reveals is that the Moto G (Gen 3) will come in 8GB built-in storage option and will be available in White colour. At the time of writing, the Flipkart listing (see below) of the Moto G (Gen 3) was still live; though it may be pulled soon.motorola moto g gen 3 flipkart listingAccording to the Flipkart listing, the Moto G (Gen 3) will feature AP3560AD1K8 model number. Motorola' President, Rick Osterloh, in March had confirmed that the company is hoping to maintain an annual product cycle. This implied that Motorola can be expected to unveil the next-generation Moto X around September, which was when the Moto X (Gen 2) was launched last year. We can also expect the Moto G (Gen 3) to launch in the same period.
Earlier this month, Motorola announced limited period discount on the majority of devices including the Moto G (Gen 2), Moto X (Gen 2), and Moto 360 smartwatch.
Under the limited period offer the Rs. 12,999 (16GB) price tag on the Motorola Moto G (Gen 2) was reduced to Rs. 10,999. It's worth noting that the Moto G (Gen 2) is still available at its reduced price tag. The Motorola Moto X (Gen 2) 16GB was available at Rs. 24,999, alongside the 32GB variant at Rs. 27,999. The Moto X (Gen 2) is now however available at its original launch price. The Moto 360 smartwatch, on the other hand, is also still available at its reduced Rs. 12,999 price.

Motorola Moto Turbo review: the Moto X on steroids

The Moto Turbo is a new flagship smartphone with powerful innards. Our review"
There are a trademark set of features we’ve come to associate with individual smartphone manufacturers. This gets more apparent in their flagship devices.
Take Samsung for instance – the first thing that comes to mind is TouchWiz and plastic, although with the Galaxy S6 it might be time to forgive the latter. For HTC, we think of that unibody metal frame and UltraPixel camera. For Sony, the OmniBalance design and waterproof capabilities. For LG, the standard rear-mounted controls and pixel-packed displays. And for Motorola – stock Android with Moto software.
While most brands chose to outdo one other with design and specs, Motorola’s objective was simple – deliver a clean Android interface enhanced by intelligent software. The company achieved that with the first and second-gen Moto X, but with the Moto Turbo, it’s taking a leaf out of the competition, and adding liberal doses of horsepower to the mix.
As with all Motorola devices in India, the Turbo is only available to buy online via the company’s exclusive retail partner, Flipkart. We went ahead and purchased a unit for ourselves, and have been using it for over two weeks to find out how if it can stand up to the competition.

Motorola Moto E 2nd Gen 4G (with Snapdragon 410) coming soon in India

Update: The 4G version of Motorola Moto E 2nd gen. has been listed on Flipkart and is with “coming soon” tag, thus we expect this to be available anytime soon. The big thing here is, the 4G variant is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor.
Earlier (March 10th): Moto E 2nd gen 3G variant launched for Rs. 6999
Motorola launches the Moto E 2nd gen. phone in India, and it will, just like all other Motorola devices in India, be exclusively available on Flipkart. The smartphone comes with a 4.5-inch display, 1 gig of RAM along with Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and it runs Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.
The device goes on sale from tomorrow, i.e. March 11th, and the company also mentioned about a 4G version, which is said to be coming soon, but no information about the price and availability was given.
Earlier:
Motorola has just announced the second generation Moto E smartphone, with two variants based on connectivity. There is only one difference between the two due to the connectivity, and it is with the processor that powers them. The Moto E 2015 still stays in the budget range but gets quite a good upgrades to the specs from the predecessor, the major one being its battery life.
Update: the pricing in India is Rs. 6999 for the 3G unit, as seen in the promo videos.
Unlike the first gen. Moto E, the Moto E 2015 comes with a 4.5-inch display but the resolution is kept the same, at qHD resolution and the display has the Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. While it has 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage (with MicroSD card slot), the processor that powers the 4G unit is Qualcomm Snapdragon 410, quad-core chipset at 1.2GHz, and on the 3G unit, you will see the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor at 1.2GHz that was seen in the Moto E 2014.
The Moto E 2015 will run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box, and the slightly modified stock interface is always one of the smoothest to use, with some added useful apps from Motorola. Camera wise, there is no upgrade done by Motorola as we still see a flash light missing beside the 5-megapixel rear shooter, and there is a VGA camera on the front.
You might already have learned about the connectivity of the 2nd Gen Moto E, as it has the 4G LTE and 3G variants, with other standard connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. Interestingly, the new Moto E has a 2390 mAh battery packed in, which could be the best part about it. We might remind you that the flagship Moto X 2nd gen had a 2300 mAh battery included, and the Moto E 2015 will disappoint several Moto X users who hold a comparatively much pricier device with a lesser battery backup.
Motorola is going to sell bands and grip shells separately, $20 a piece. The pricing set for the Moto E 2015, is $119.99 for the 3G variant, and $149.99 for the LTE variant. The roll out will be right away, in over 50 countries across North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia.
Motorola India has given an indication about the release of this smartphone in India via. Flipkart, but it is unclear about the color variants and also whether it will be just the 3G variant or both of them available.
