Xolo Black With 5.5-Inch Full-HD Display, Dual Rear Cameras Launched at Rs. 12,999
Xolo
has launched its first smartphone under its premium 'Black' brand.
Called the Xolo Black, the smartphone will be priced at Rs. 12,999 and
will go on sale on Flipkart on Monday.
Existing Xolo customers can get the smartphone a day early between 4pm to 8pm on Sunday, but will have to register for that. The company has also tied up with Vodafone to provide a bundled SIM offer with 1GB of free data a month for two months, and unlimited Vodafone music for two months. Users can also get their hands on the smartphone before their purchase at 100 Vodafone flagship stores across the country.
The dual-SIM (Micro-SIM and Nano-SIM) Xolo Black runs on the Hive atlas UI that's based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It features a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 403ppi, oleophobic coating, and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection (which extends to the back of the smartphone). The power key also doubles up as the notification light.
The Black smartphone is powered by what is being called the second-gen 64-bit Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) SoC, with four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.0GHz, and four Cortex-A53 cores clocked at 1.5GHz. It features an Adreno 405 GPU and 2GB of RAM, and 16GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB).
Notably, the Xolo Black features a hybrid dual-SIM slot, where the second SIM card slot also doubles up as the microSD card slot. The smartphone also comes with a dual rear camera setup, with one 13-megapixel camera and one 2-megapixel camera. The two cameras work in tandem for faster autofocus (claimed to be 0.15 seconds) and depth-mapping. It also enables features like UbiFocus, which lets users refocus on objects even after a photo has been taken.
Other Xolo Black rear camera features that the company is touting include ChromaFlash for natural looking colours and skin tones in low light, apart from OptiZoom for enhanced digital zoom using image processing. The company is also touting the Adobe-powered Photo Studio tool that's integrated in the Xolo Black's image gallery. The front-facing camera features a 5-megapixel sensor, a wide-angle lens, and flash as well.
As for connectivity options, the Xolo Black features 4G LTE connectivity, supporting both FDD-LTE Band 3 (1800MHz) and TDD-LTE Band 40 (2300MHz); Micro-USB v2.0 with USB OTG functionality; A-GPS; Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
The latest version of the company's proprietary Hive UI was also described at the launch, and apart from featuring Material Design, comes with an 'Underground' feature as a secure storage space for private apps and data, a special reading mode, and an updated Comet browser with battery saving features.

Xolo Black with ‘dual-camera setup’ to launch on July 10 on Flipkart
After teasing the smartphone a few days ago, Xolo has announced that it will be launching the Black on July 10. With this smartphone, Xolo is finally trying out the online business model that has been adopted for companies like Honor, Yu and Lenovo.
Xolo highlighted in its video teaser that the Black smartphone is smudge-free and stain-free, and will come with a unique twin-camera setup. The teaser also shows off the iPhone 6-like curved sides and a SIM-card tray on the left. Last month, BGR India exclusively reported that Xolo is getting into the online-only space to take on the likes of Xiaomi, Lenovo, OnePlus and Motorola. We also reported about the dual-camera setup, and that the new smartphone will be priced under Rs 15,000.
The smartphone will be a Flipkart exclusive, and follow the online-only business model. However, it won’t be sold via flash sales, and instead will just be made available through open sale. Not much about the smartphone is known yet, except that it sports a thin profile, a glass rear panel at the back, support 4G LTE, and run on the new Hive 1.5 UI based on Android 5.1 Lollipop. The company claims to have optimized the battery and processor performance as well.
Xolo looks to drive significant chunk of revenue from online sales, and will launch a new handset every quarter under sub-brand Black. The phones will be priced between Rs 10,000 – Rs 20,000 and all of them would be 4G enabled.
Xolo Cube 5.0 Gets 2GB RAM, 5-Megapixel Front Camera Variant at Rs. 8,888
The company alongside also announced a minor price cut on its original Xolo Cube 5.0 smartphone, which will now be available to buy at Rs. 7,489, down from the launch price of Rs. 7,999.
The major difference between the Cube 5.0 (2GB) and Cube 5.0 smartphone is that the former features 2GB of RAM while the latter pack just 1GB of RAM. The new Cube 5.0 (2GB) also sports a 5-megapixel front-facing camera while the Cube 5.0 came with a 2-megapixel front camera. The company also claims that the new Cube 5.0 (2GB) features 85 percent NTSC colour gamut on the display not present on the original Cube 5.0.
Other specifications of the Xolo Cube 5.0 are the same as the original smartphone. The dual-SIM Xolo Cube 5.0 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop, and features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi. The smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M SoC.
Sporting an 8-megapixel rear autofocus camera, the Xolo Cube 5.0 features 8GB of built-in storage that is expandable via microSD card (up to 32GB). Connectivity options include 3G (HSPA+), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, Micro-USB 2.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Xolo Cube 5.0 (2GB) packs a 2100mAh battery and bears an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, and proximity sensor. It will be available in White, Black and Gold colours.

Xolo has launched a new smartphone in India on Friday - the Xolo Cube 5.0 - priced at Rs. 7,999. The smartphone will be in Black and White colour variants.
The dual-SIM Xolo Cube 5.0 runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop, and features a 5-inch (720x1280 pixel) IPS display with a pixel density of 294ppi. The new Xolo smartphone is powered by a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582M SoC, coupled with 1GB of RAM.

Xolo last month launched a limited Liverpool FC edition of its Xolo One smartphone for football fans in India, priced at Rs. 6,299. Called the Liverpool FC Edition Xolo One, it is exclusively available for purchase on Snapdeal.
The limited edition smartphone is identical to the original Xolo One in terms of specifications, but in addition features the Liverpool FC's iconic Liverbird printed on the 'premium leather back'. Also bundled are an LFC-branded charger and back case, apart from an authenticity certificate. Users also get preloaded Liverpool wallpapers and an LFC boot animation

Xolo Chromebook, Nexian Air Chromebook Laptops Launched at Rs. 12,999
Xolo and Nexian on Friday at a Google
India event launched their first Chromebook laptops in the country at a
price tag of Rs. 12,999. While the Xolo Chromebook will arrive in the
"next few days" on Snapdeal according to the firm, the Nexian Air
Chromebook laptop is already available to buy from Amazon.
